The Lancers Abroad Scholarship, formerly the Study Abroad Adventure Scholarship, is designed to encourage Longwood University students to study abroad by supplementing some of the cost of international education. Students who plans to study abroad through a Longwood approved credit-bearing program are encouraged to apply for a Lancers Abroad Scholarship.

  • You must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • You must submit a 300-word essay in English.
  • Preference will be given to students who have a current FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Office.

  • The Lancers Abroad Scholarship is limited to $500 for short term programs and $900 for long term programs in any given year.
  • Students applying for a scholarship for the first time may be given priority over students applying more than once.
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with other CGE or Cormier Honors scholarships unless special permission is granted by the Executive Director of the Ccenter for Global Engagement.

Honors students are eligible for separate funding through the Cormier Honors College. Contact Jessi Znosko to get started.

Priority deadlines for completing scholarship questionnaires is September 15, for winter intersession and spring semester, or February 15, for summer and fall semesters. Scholarship questionnaires completed after the deadline are not guaranteed consideration. All scholarship decisions will be made after the applications close.
