No matter what you choose, you'll get a chance to fully experience a city full of history, culture, and innovation.
Unique Experiences
FIND OUT
first-hand why Denmark is rated one of the happiest countries in the world
EXPLORE
Copenhagen's unique architectural mix of old and new
LIVE
in a city completely accessible and explorable by bike. World's first officially designated "Bike City."
Participate in a two-night, three-day study tour in Denmark or Europe during each block. Students might visit Gdansk or Oslo, or Danish destinations such as Ribe (the oldest Town in Denmark, founded by Vikings), Århus (2017 European Cultural Capital) or Skagen (the country's northernmost town).
Students can experience Danish hygge during a weekend homestay. Hygge explains the Danish lifestyle that can be described as a quality of coziness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being. Hygge can be a candle-light dinner, but it can be a dinner with family, friends and like-minded people sitting around a table and have a lighthearted conversation.
Experience Copenhagen's transformation from a Viking fishing village founded in the 10th century through a visit to the Nationalmuseet to a world leading capital of sustainability and innovation in today's Science City.
Projects, Volunteer Opportunities, or Internships
Volunteering. Give back and create a deeper connection to Copenhagen. Denmark has a rich tradition to engage in volunteer activity, mainly through special interest groups (called "Foregning") and announces city-wide opportunities to volunteer at local festivals and sporting events throughout the year. By volunteering at local high schools or the local Studenterhuset CIEE students meet with local Danish students and peers.
